What is Bail Schedules
Bail schedules are lists of the bail amount that apply to different crimes in any field. For example, Nevada’s bail schedule may set bail for the crime of disruptive conduct at $2,000 or set a $6,000 bond for theft.
What Bail Costs Are Suitable for Each Crime
States laws will decide not only what bail costs are suitable for each crime and whether police can release a prisoner without needing bail, but also whether prisoners are allowed to post bond following the booking or if they must wait for a bail decision. They also usually allow judges significant latitude in decreasing or increasing bail when the court deems it suitable. Federal rulers do not have bail schedules, and bail prices are up to the concern of the court.
For example, the State of Nevada needs a bail hearing in all cases involving specific crimes, such as the spousal rape, spousal battery, and making terrorist attacks. In general, if state laws support it, a defendant can be released on bail immediately after booking as long as the defendant can pay the required amount. If the law demands a bail hearing, the accused will not be able to pay bail or otherwise be freed until a court holds the conference.
